The other day I got sent this, which details some of the core beliefs of scientology. Man this religion is awesome. Founded by a bad science fiction writer, the core belief is that some intergalactic dude named Xenu (no relation to Xena) stacked aliens around volcanoes on Earth 75 million years ago and then vapoorized them with hydrogen bombs.

For more information on this, possibly funniest religion ever, check out this link, if just to watch the South Park episode.

Geordie, you’ve been had.
I’ve been a Scientologist for over 22 years. Those are *not* our core beliefs in the least. That PDF was put together by a small group of ex-Scientologists who were thrown out in the 1980s and are still sore about it. It’s an urban legend that’s been doing the rounds since then.

Hubbard did do some research into past lives and into what came up in people’s cases during past life regression therapy, back in the 50s. But (a) that’s not a “core belief” of anyone, and (b) it’s not really about aliens and bombs.

Scientology is actually about increasing one’s self-awareness and social responsibility, and about doing better in life. If you ever want some TRUE info about Scientology, stop by at http://www.liveandgrow.org, my site.

Sincerely,
Greg
Scientologist and proud of it

Greg, I will visit your liveandgrowourbankaccount website for 5 minutes if you donate to me $100 per minute of visit. After that, I will have reached a whole new level of enlightenment, so you may have to pay a little bit more for my visits. We’ll discuss it when we get there.

Greg, that’s like saying Catholicism is actually about social responsibility and forgiveness. It’s also about outlawing abortion, banning gay marriage, banning birth control, banning stem-cell research, and believing that a baby was born from a virgin. You can’t take the good and leave the bad and/or stupid.

Anon.: Don’t forget the eating flesh and drinking blood part…my personal favorite.

Eating flesh and drinking blood part…. yeah they borrowed that from the pagans.

and in the famous word of Peter Griffin
[Peter is receiving communion]
Peter Griffin: Wow, is that really the blood of Christ?
Preacher: Yes.
Peter Griffin: Wow, that guy must’ve been wasted 24 hours a day, huh?
