Teaching machines to learn using quantum computers: Prelude
In the following posts I am going to go step-by-step through an application built around an adiabatic quantum algorithm. The application was co-developed by scientists at Google and D-Wave. We have published aspects of this work but since it requires expertise in two almost entirely disjoint fields (machine learning and quantum computing) I think there is value in having a less formal forum to discuss and describe the approach.
This is going to be extra cool as I am going to try (although we’ll see if I have enough juice to make it happen
) to provide to you, my faithful 3 readers (hi mom), web services access to actual hardware to run the application end to end.
