USC Viterbi articles about their D-Wave One install

USC Viterbi’s latest magazine has several articles describing their experience to date with their D-Wave One system, including an introduction by Dean of Engineering Yannos Yortsos, and an interview of Daniel Lidar by Seth Lloyd. The issue is available online; I’ve linked the cover image to the site. The woman on the cover (six times!) is Kristen Pudenz, one of Daniel Lidar’s graduate students working on the system.

  1. Any word on a Quantum SSD? (preferably with Overwriting capability and infinite write/erase cycles)

I think if you made a Quantum SSD, whenever you have temporary data, it would temporaily write itself to the drive using Quantum Superpositions, without taking up extra space. The same might be true with duplicate files or a file that is in different formats.
