About
Hack the multiverse is the official blog of D-Wave Systems. D-Wave design, build and market quantum computers.
The purpose of this blog is to describe what quantum computers are, how we program them and what applications areas they are useful for. Several of the scientists and engineers at D-Wave contribute to the blog, for a peek behind the scenes at the fascinating world of quantum computing.

I read with interest (but not with total understanding–since I am not a technical person) your information.
I do have a question reguarding the title of your blog. (Hacking the multiverse).
Is this meant to indicate that certain quantum functions may have multi-demensional character? (via tunneling or some other method). Or is this phrase simply used in a non-technical/illustrative sense, to indicate broadly expansive opportunities for exploration?
Some people believe that quantum mechanics implies that we live in a “multiverse”, comprising all possibilities consistent with physics all having objective reality. One of the big proponents of this concept is David Deutsch, see http://www.ted.com/talks/david_deutsch_on_our_place_in_the_cosmos.html for one of his TED talks. So since we program quantum computers, we are potentially Hacking The Multiverse.
Does the existence of quantum computer prove that we live in multiverse?

Not really. No-one knows how to experimentally test the various “interpretations” of quantum mechanics. Quantum computation occurs within all of the reasonable interpretations.
Do musterd go good on ham?
Hi,
I am a sophomore physics major student in Turkey. And I have researched for summer research programs in Quantum Computing. However, I cannot find any, but I strongly want to make research in Quantum Computation.I will ask that is there any oppourtunity for me in d-wave.
